New Orleans
2023
I had the privilege of joining a Fancy Girl Street Boy Productions in New Orleans for one of their many workshops. They have shot documentary pieces, campaigns and editorial essays for magazines in the US and all over Latin America, as well as portraits for internationally known actors, Emmy Award winning directors, Broadway performers, Presidents, politicians and high profile business people. They have also produced films for PBS. In addition to shooting, for more than a decade, they have produced workshops for Santa Fe and photography expeditions for National Geographic. Since then, they have run more than 100 workshops in 22 countries around the globe in exotic locations like Morocco and Mongolia, bustling cities like Florence and Barcelona, the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia and Bagan, Myanmar and chic islands like St. Lucia.
Joining us as additional instructors was Susan Sterner and Tyrone Turner. They are partners in photography and life, both award-winning photojournalists and educators, with a deep love and connection to Louisiana. Susan is an independent artist and photojournalist and an Associate Professor of Photography and Photojournalism at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at George Washington University.
